Book Week

Book Week is one of the highlights of the Library year taking place in August annually.

During this time there are a myriad of activities that take place, with the most exciting of all being the Dress up Parade. Each year children are invited to dress up as a character from a book or to use their imagination and dress up according to the theme for Book Week. These themes are chosen by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA)

During 2020 Book Week was delayed due to restrictions associated with COVID 19. The theme was 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds!' It was wonderful to see the amazing costumes of the children at Albion and to see the joy of the Curious Creature Hunt where students cracked the code that told them 'Albion children are the best children in the whole world'.

To see the wonderful costumes worn by the children follow this link to the Photo Gallery.

Due to Covid, our 2021 week was again a little unusual. It was a more casual affair with the theme 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds" being a basis for a dress up day.

In 2022 our wish for a return to a week of fun, laughter and the celebration of the world of books was granted. With the theme of 'Dreaming with Eyes Open' in mind, the range of costumes was just like a dream! Around the school staff could be found dreaming about their favourite picture books

The 2023 theme for Book Week is 'Read Grow Inspire'. We can't wait to see what happens...
