Lower primary years

Every class begins the year with an intensive program called the Excellence in Education Start-Up program. Students participate in a variety of activities that establish firm foundations for learning. The program helps teachers and students create the right conditions for learning in their class and ensures everyone is working towards the same goals. Classes revisit the school values, Code of Conduct and expectations of students and staff. It allows children to begin goal setting for the year and explore how they will achieve their learning goals. The program covers a range of key areas including: developing a class purpose statement; classroom expectations and processes; rights and responsibilities; what effort looks like; working as a part of a team.
