If you are interested in enrolling your child at Albion Primary School, please visit the school office to request an enrolment pack or email albion.ps@education.vic.gov.au or call 9311 1325. You are also able to download the pack from the link above.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school.

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

  1. students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time
  2. all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

If your child is starting Foundation (Prep) in 2024, you will be able to enrol your child at Albion Primary School from the start of Term 2, 2023 (Monday 24 April 2023).

What you need to do:

  1. Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) and read about enrolling in a school.
  2. Contact a government primary school to book a school tour if you want to or to learn more about the school and the enrolment application process if you need to.
  3. Download or collect from the school an enrolment pack for Foundation (Prep) and submit by Friday 28 July 2023.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 11 August 2023. If you receive an offer of placement, you should accept the offer by Friday 25 August 2023.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during term 4, 2023.
  6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) in 2024.

Enrolment applications submitted after 28 July 2023 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department’s Placement Policy.

Your child has a right to enrol at their local school. Your child’s local school is determined on the basis of their permanent residential address. Visit Find my School to locate your child’s local school. The enrolling in a school page can also help you to confirm your child’s address for enrolment.

If you are seeking to apply to enrol your child in a school that is not their local school, you should read about school zones and how they work and how applications are prioritised using the Department’s Placement Policy found on the enrolling in a school page.

Complete all of the forms in the pack and drop it off at school or email it to albion.ps@edcuation.vic.gov.au

You must also provide school with proof of birthdate with a birth certificate, passport or ImmiCard and

Immunisation History Statement certificate. The certificate must have the clause - ‘This child has received all vaccines required by 5 years of age.’ View some information and an example of the correct certificate. You can get the certificate from a MediCare office or online from the MyGov website (your MyGov account needs to be linked to MediCare).

The office staff will take a copy of documents if you cannot provide copies.

The Ready for School Checklist has lots of great ideas to help get you and your child get ready for school.

Everyday at Albion Primary School is an open day. Come and see the school during a real school day. Please ring on 9311 1325 to organise a tour at a mutually convenient time.

An important part of enrolling is to ensure your child can participate in our K - Foundation (Prep) transition program that takes place in November. This program allows us to get to know your child and your child to get to know the school and how it works. Only students who are enrolled can take part in the program.

The videos below are for you and you child to watch to give you an idea of what school life is like at Albion Primary School. Please note these were made in 2020. While the videos may refer to starting school in 2021, they are helpful for whenever your child starts so you can get a better picture about what their days may look like at Albion. Many thanks to the Foundation teachers and students for their contribution in making and putting the vidoes together.
