National Walk to School Day is Friday 22nd May but because the 5/6 students are on camp, we are celebrating it on Monday 25th May instead!
All children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school.
Championed by the Pedestrian Council Australia this community event seeks to encourage children to lead a healthier more active lifestyle by simply including a walk in their day.
Furthermore it aims to raise awareness of the health road safety transport and environmental benefits that regular walking or alternative active transport (especially to and from school) can provide for the long-term well-being of our children.
We hope that all families will take part in this day. If you live too far away to walk the whole way to school, driving part of the way, parking and then walking the rest of the way is a good alternative.
House points will be given to students who do walk to school.
