Term 3 Wrap

School is out, for a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to a break from the early morning alarm waking me up!

While there is still much work to be done over the holiday period, a break from the day to day will be very much appreciated.

School events that were held this term include Parent/Teacher/Student conferences, house and interschool athletics carnivals, First Aid learning for all students, Red Nose disco, Book Week celebrations, working bee, Fathers' Day stall, Walk and Wheel Day and Team Colours Day. As well, the Prep students celebrated 100 days of school, had Fire Education and went on a local walk around Albion. There were excursions, a photoshoot and Hoop Time competitions. We have had a number of work experience students, pre-service teachers and Education Support (ES) placement students during this term. We like to be able to support training teachers and ES. They receive excellent training and mentorship from our staff. The staff had some very positive professional learning sessions throughout the term. We are all continuous learners and want to get better at what we do so we can continue to improve student learning outcomes.

Albion Primary School had successful NAPLAN results that demonstrate the work we are doing is having an impact. Our students are capable of achieving great things when they believe in themselves, are focused on their learning and are supported by good, strong teaching. The partnership between families and the school is also very important to help achieve the school's goals. I would like to thank all of the staff for the dedication to the students.

We continue to 'aim high' in all we do at Albion.

May you all enjoy the break from the morning school rush.

Take care and I look forward to seeing everyone on 2nd October when term four begins.

Lunchtime Clubs

Some of our older students are running lunch time clubs for the younger students.
Clubs include:
  • Comedy Club
  • Drama Club
  • Uno Club
  • Lego Club
  • Bird Watching Club
Children can participate in the activities the leaders are providing or watch the 'comedians' in action.

Some information about the bird watching club was provided in last week's E-News.

F - 3 House Athletics Day

On a beautiful spring day, the children in F - 3 took part in their house athletics activities.

They participated in running and relay races, jumped high and long and over hurdles, threw bean bags in the modified discus and shot put events, joined in a horse race and had fun with a parachute and a ball.

Thank you to the staff, parents and the 5/6 students who supervised and activities.

2024 Planning

The process of planning and organising for the 2024 school year is well underway.

Accurate student numbers are crucial for school planning. Student numbers determine school funding.

It it very important to officially let the school know if your child or children is/are not returning to Albion Primary School next year. Please email albion.ps@education.vic.gov.au or visit the office to inform the office staff if your child will not be enroled in 2024.

Similarly, if you have a child who is commencing foundation (prep) in 2024, please make sure you enrol them so they do not miss out on the transition program or being placed in a class.

If you know of anyone who is intending to send their child to Albion Primary School in 2024, in any year level, please let them know that they need to enrol their child urgently.
