On Friday, 20th March, the House Cross Country challenge will be run. Children can wear house colours for the day. If students are unable to wear their house colour, they must wear their school uniform.Clothing worn on this day needs to be predominantly the colour of their house and suitable for running laps around the oval. Runners and school hats also need to be worn and children are encouraged to bring a water bottle. If students are unable to wear their house colour, please send them in their school uniform. It is not a casual clothes day, so only house colours or school uniform are to be worn.
Students have been practising running laps during their weekly PE lessons and some children have been practising on Mondays and Wednesdays before school in preparation for the challenge.
Students in grade Prep-2 will be encouraged to run a minimum of 2 laps and a maximum of 10 laps, students from grade 3-6 will be encouraged to run a minimum of 4 laps and a maximum of 15 laps. The running track is approximately 220m around. Children earn house points for the number of laps they complete. The challenge will take place after lunch at 2:20pm (dependent on weather). Parents are most welcome to come and watch and cheer on their child/children.
